New York’s first-ever Fitness Week is launching June 5- June 12, 2022, offering 2-for-1 class deals that will generate more excitement for workouts in studios and gyms across the city

New York’s first-ever Fitness Week is coming June 5-12, 2022. Designed to drive excitement and boost attendance at fitness classes around the city, Fitness Week is a celebration of NYC studios and gyms after the trials of the pandemic. Fitness Week was created by Debra Strougo, Founder of Row House and owner of Fitizens Holdings, and Brian Chappon, CEO of CENTRD.

“Our inspiration for this initiative is getting people moving again after the pandemic wreaked havoc on their mental and physical health – as well as getting our industry’s businesses back to a place where they thrive after 2 years of challenging business environments,” said Strougo and Chappon.

Participating studios are offering a 2-for-1 deal; if clients attend their first class the week of June 5th, they can attend the second anytime during the month of June. Over 200 studios are participating, with more than 5,000 classes offered. Studios include 305 Fitness, Barry’s, Fhitting Room, Mile High Run Club, The Class, and many more. Fitness Week’s goal is to tip the scale so more than 20% of the population is a member of fitness gyms and studios.

After New York’s Fitness Week, the series will expand to other cities, like Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, and Atlanta. Clients will be able to book classes through CENTRD at fitness-weeks.com, regardless of each studio’s club management software. Studios can opt-in to Fitness Week through the website, and there is no cost to participate.

When asked about the future of the industry, Strougo and Chappon stated, “Hopefully […] the fitness industry will become better known for mental health and physical health and appreciated for the connections it offers and the happiness it brings. We want people to look past their intimidation of the industry and have a reason to walk in and get started – and that’s what Fitness Weeks will do–city by city!”
