Former NHL Player, Strength Coach To Franchise Pain Relief Studios
Matterhorn Fit is looking to upend the pain management industry with its signature blend of neuropriming and strength
Far too many Americans are in pain, according to Matterhorn Fit, a neurologically-focused rehabilitation and personal training provider. After bringing hope and relief to countless Southwest Florida residents, the brand has now launched a franchise model to introduce its pain management and PT solutions nationwide.
Co-founded by former NHL player Ryan Vesce and strength coach Sean Sullivan, Matterhorn aims to disrupt the traditional pain management industry with the “Matterhorn Method.”
The market need is large, as the brand says one in every two adults in the U.S. lives with musculoskeletal pain, and those people are commonly faced with just three options: antiquated therapies, drugs, and overprescribed surgical options with long recovery times.
In contrast, the Matterhorn approach combines neuropriming with the root cause of pain, reinforcement and strengthening. The brand has gained a loyal following of professional athletes, including 11 Olympians. Matterhorn devotees credit the brand’s method for its speedy results, with over 94% of clients reporting significant pain reduction within two weeks.
“We took learnings from our experience in professional sports and shaped those into an integrated program that gives everyday individuals access to the same process used by the best athletes in the world,” Vesce said. “The Matterhorn Method is unlike anything you will find at a traditional rehab or training facility.”
The Pain-Free Lifestyle
For Vesce, pain is personal. On the verge of retirement and on the heels of a major back and hip surgery, the hockey player sought out the help of Sullivan to address his chronic pain. The duo spent five years incorporating training with neurological techniques found in the pro sports world, which provided immediate results that Vesce says allowed him to play for another five years.
By 2018, Vesce retired and pivoted to promoting a pain-free lifestyle with Sullivan, officially bringing the Matterhorn Method to market. The two first began testing the method on pro athletes before introducing it to active seniors in sunny Florida. Matterhorn Fit opened the doors to its first facility in Bonita Springs before demand led to a second location in Naples.
Matterhorn Fit’s decision to franchise comes as consumers continue seeking holistic, medication-free methods to enjoy life fully. Franchising will allow the company to share its knowledge and expertise so consumers can recover and build strength, according to Vesce.
“We inspire hope to many who have lost it,” he said. “We’ve spent the last year systematizing our operations, culture, technology, communication and extensive on-site and virtual training to provide our franchise partner with tools to deliver our proven system to their market.”
The brand says its ideal franchisees are passionate, with professional backgrounds as athletic trainers, physical therapists, entrepreneurs, athletes or doctors. The initial investment, including the franchise fee, ranges from $263,627 to $423,657.
